Georgie Nicholls recently joined the Community and Health Research unit as a research assistant on the PANDA project (Improving Pain mAnagment for childreN and young people attendeD by Ambulance). This project utilises a realist methodology to identify what can be done to better manage children’s pain in the prehospital setting. Previously, Georgie worked on the ‘Following Young Father’s Further’ project led by Professor Anna Tarrant. This study looked closely at the experiences young fathers had and what support they needed to promote a more father-inclusive approach in the UK. Georgie has also worked as a lecturer in the school of social and political sciences, teaching students from first year to third year, before deciding that she wanted to focus more on her research career.
Georgie’s undergraduate and master’s degrees were both obtained from the University of Lincoln, where she is currently studying for her PhD. Her thesis examines the way that fictional narratives portray the profiling of terrorists. Georgie’s background in social sciences means that she has varied interests, from criminological theories to sociological concepts. She is passionate about qualitative research and is looking forward to using her skills on the PANDA project.
